James Rickards, the Federal Reserve Bank likely has no way to exit from its money printing effort known as quantitative easing:

There is a post at Beat the Press from Dean Baker, who is a decent enough economist to embrace the idea of shorter working time; but who, despite this point in his favor, nevertheless brings such defective reasoning to his analysis that it makes me cringe:

The difference between a journalist and an historian is that the historian knows the difference. George Bernard Shaw once complained that journalists are seemingly…

CorporateWatch.org - August 2010
1. IntroductionCommercial messages have colonised every part of our environment. Advertising is everywhere, in all of our media, TV and radio, newspapers and magazines; in films and all over the internet; on bill boards and bus stops; on our clothing and cars; in museums and public parks; at community events and political party conferences; salesmen…

Matching its all time low, the current approval rating of Congress is 18%. Special interests continue to divert Congress from the public interests. The game is rigged and Congress is incapable de-rigging it. So too, it is literally impossible for citizen voters to create fundamental political and social change by strictly adhering to only those methods approved by the government.
Or is it?
The only apparent alternative for peaceful change is that prescribed in Article V…

Bill Moyers sits down with populist Jim Hightower to look at the history and legacy of people's movements and discuss how ordinary people can reclaim political power. Hightower frames progressive views better than anyone I've heard, even George Lakoff. This was from the last episode of The Journal, which spanned 40 years. Moyers adds a cutting exclamation point on U.S. Plutocracy, but first, here is why Bill Moyers decided to end The… Continue

The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, and more selfish than bureaucracy. It denounces as public enemies, all who question its methods or throw light upon its crimes… As a result of the war, corporations have been enthroned and an era of corruption in high places will…
