Haa! Canada has the Looney on it's coin, so why not.
I'm not so sure of the China currency issue. When China buys US Debt they prop up our dollar, while keeping their currency relatively lower, making their goods affordable to the US consumer. I can't see China substantially switching to a global currency until they find a larger market for their goods. A market like India but their class structure stalls that idea. Their cast system is legalized slavery or something akin to our use of illegal Mexican and Caribbean labor. Maybe Brazil if they can build up a strong middle class.
As for the Global Currency, I can definitely see that happening if or when the transnationals or multi-national corporations develop a solidarity --based on capitalist greed, and desire to escape US laws/regulation-- to develop an international government entity with laws they can better exploit. I can see this power-move by the Elite to further exploit the commodity specialized of human labor. ie pitting India's, China's and Russia's degreed workforce against the West.
However, I can also see another scenario, being the Western Elite starting a war between Pakistan and India or Israel and Iran to divert attention from the US Citizens and prevent the revolt you suggest.
Fight the good fight Harold. We need to promote open debate in our academic institutions to improve on our forms of government and move us into a new era. I say the catalyst for massive systemic change will be one person! A Rosa Parks or a Gandhi. Someone that amplifies the causes of suffering and injustice.
Here's more proof leaning towards Corporations blatantly abandoning the USA.
WSJ Citi to cut down U.S. branch network to 6 areas & limit consumer lending in U.S. to credit cards & jumbo mortgages, largely to affluent consumers. Citigroup to USA: Thanks for the bailout. Now F.U!
